Fic or Treat!

Dean comes bounding out of the diner, shrieking almost too much like a girl. Sam just shakes his head and rolls his eyes.

"Dean, will you calm down?"

There is a lot of humor in this situation, and Sam can see it quite clearly. Dean's always been the one to jump to the chance to hunt demons. He's always been the fearless one, and for once, he's the one scared shitless.

But he can also see how problematic this is. If Dean's frightened this much, who's there to comfort him in the dark? Who will be there to hold him when he wakes up from those godawful nightmares that look like premonitions more and more each day?

As Sam steps up to Dean's form, crunched over and hyperventilating on the sidewalk, he tries to remember how Dean used to comfort him when he was a kid. He wraps an arm around Dean and rubs a soothing hand up and down his back. He whispers words into his ear and just tries to take Dean's mind off of everything that has him on edge.

He knows he needs to put a stop to this ghostly mischief, and fast. If Dean succumbs to the path of fear and lets it take over him, the world is doomed. And whether Sean wants to admit it or not, he knows that he would be nothing without his big brother.

Buffy picked up a piece of candy and held it in her fingers, twirling it over and over again as she examined the shiny wrapper. She pulled the wrapper apart and stuck the piece of chocolate in her mouth.

"You know, I think I get it," she piped up in between swallowing the chocolate and licking her fingers. "You know, the whole why the vampires never attack on Halloween."

Giles, Xander, and Willow were looking through books, trying to figure out how to stop the next Big Bad rampaging Sunnydale. Their work was never done.

"Please Buffy, enlighten us to your theory of why vampires stay in on Halloween," Giles replied dryly.

"It's simple! The kids in costumes, the candy. Vampires don't attack because it's the one day when people travel in packs. It's the one day when we pretend to be them. They don't have the power they usually have on Halloween."

Giles stared at Buffy, stunned. "That...was actually an astute observation. Are you feeling all right?"

"I'm feeling just fine! You know, sometimes I do actually pay attention when you speak," Buffy teased as she grabbed for another piece of candy.

Willow just grinned and looked at Xander, expecting to get a knowing grin back. Sometimes, Buffy proved she was more than just a girly girl that also happened to have the ability to slay vampires. She felt proud to be friends with Buffy, and to lend a hand with her ability to hack and do research.

Xander, on the other hand, had been staring at Buffy and was, of course, not paying any attention to Willow's reaction. All in all, it was just another day in the Sunnydale High library, only with the addition of costumed kids roaming the hallways.

Yay for Buffy being smart! (And the power of candy.)

This was always a special day in My Chemical Romance. Not only did it mean playing dress up (and what grown man didn't like doing that, seriously?) but it was Frank Iero's birthday. Which, of course meant much epicness all around.

It was Halloween again, which meant the five of them drinking to their heart's content, sharing several pies of pizza with all their favorite toppings, and indulging in a sinful chocolate cake (with gummy bears on top, of course). Several shots of tequila down, all the pizza devoured, and Frank was draped across Gerard's lap quite pleasantly.

"So what do you want for your birthday?" Gerard slurred rather gracefully, his hand brushing up and down Frank's arm. "You know the drill, you get anything you want tonight."

Frank always asked for the same thing every year. Gerard had come to expect this by now, but he still asked for it, in case somehow his answer changed in the course of 365 days.

"A kiss," Frank replied, his eyes searching Gerard's as they always did. To see if there was any hope of him getting this present outside of his birthday.

But even if it didn't happen after the thirty-first ended, Frank always had the taste, the feel of Gerard's lips in his mind to hold him over. He knew one kiss a year was enough to get him by.

"Happy birthday, Frank," Gerard would reply after the kiss was over. And Frank would thank him, imagining himself telling him those three words. But he could never bring himself to say them, because he knew they wouldn't be returned.

One day, Frank vowed. One day, all of this would change. He just had to hold out hope.

Fic or Treat!

Michael used to love dressing Walt up for Halloween. There was something so adorable about the little boy as he paraded around in his dinosaur costume. For the next month, all Michael could draw was dinosaurs.

He smiled as he looked at all the drawings and cards he used to give Walt. They never got to Walt, but now he was going to tell Walt everything that he missed. He was going to make sure Walt knew just exactly what happened in his youth, what he missed when he was taken away by his mother.

He resented his ex a lot for the things she did. But now he had Walt again. Now he was going to make sure that Walt never missed another Halloween again.

As he showed the postcards and the drawings to Walt, he could tell they lacked any sort of connection. He knew that he would have to rebuild that, and he hoped that taking his son trick-or-treating would be a good way to reestablish that connection.

Now he just needed to think of a costume for Walt.

Fic or Treat!

It's Halloween, Upper East Siders, and you know what that means! That's right, costumes, hijinx, and candy!

S dressed as an angel this year. Too bad her halo's stopped glistening quite so brightly lately.

B dressed as a vicious feline. Those claws were made for scratching, and we can only wait to see who they'll be scratching.

Poor little J dressed as a princess, but rumor has it a certain someone plans to sabotage her. She should know by now, you don't mess with B and her friends.

We hear Lonely Boy doesn't have a costume this year. But we think he doesn't need one. That mask he wears should be just enough.

All the chaos came to a climax at a little party thrown by the queen B herself. Something tells me that with all the costumes and all the masks, people will be going home emptier than when they came.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who you show up with, it's always who you end up with. And we hear that a certain Brooklyn beauty ended up with a little more than she could bite off and chew.

Trick or Treat, Upper East Siders. Let's hope you get a treat, because we know how dangerous it is to get a trick from the Manhattan elite.

Fic or Treat!

Patrick grinned as he climbed out of the car. Everyone was assembling at Pete's house this year for Halloween. With so many guest rooms, there was guaranteed to be a ton of sex. Which always meant a lot of fun for Patrick, because last year, he ended up in three of those rooms.

This year, Patrick was dressed up like the Phantom of the Opera. He had a mask, a tux, the cape, and everything. He was greeted immediately by Gabe, who was wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles getup (apparently the rest of the Cobra gang was wearing the other 4 Turtles costumes). He was pushed in to get a drink and found Travis dressed as Zorro (Patrick might have begged to try out the sword).

After a drink, or three, Patrick found himself alone and wandering around the party. But he knew that wasn't about to last long.

When he was shoved into a room, he knew exactly who it was that had pushed him. He smirked as his mystery admirer showed himself by switching on the light. "Well hello beautiful," a familiar voice said. And wow, Pete really made a creepy Joker.

"No, Pete, I don't want to see a magic trick." Patrick tried not to laugh, but his attempts were pretty futile.

"C'mon just one? I'll make your pants disappear!"

And that had Patrick laughing hysterically, falling back into the bed. Pete slipped onto the bed, on top of Patrick. It didn't take much from Pete to get Patrick into the mood.

And it didn't take much to get him off either. Oh yes, it was just another Halloween at the Wentz household.
